Another successful Belfast Children’s Vacation came to an end on July 26th 2007. The young people from Holy Family and Fortwilliam youth centres were once again a credit to their clubs. They were all very well cared for and plenty of activities arranged for them.

This years programme consisted of a 3 day camping trip, visit to the Major’s office, tour of a Cruise ship, the Police and Fire Service organised a full day of activities for the group. There was also a trip to the local Zoo where a special day was organised for the Canadian Arm Forces serving in Iraq, also the international football match which we won again and then the closing Banquet which was a great evening with the both groups singing for their Canadian hosts.

While there our first two days were taken up by doing home visits, to chat to families and let the young people know that we are there for them and if need be they could call us whenever.

The young people met up on a numerous of occasions and when no group activity was organised then families organised pool parties or barbecue’s for the young people to come together. So without activities the young people were able to meet up and do things together.

NB: Photographs of this years trip can now be found in our online Gallery.
